When Preston James visited Oak Island, NC, for a friend’s wedding, he didn’t know he was
about to meet his future wife—and her grandmother. Preston rented an Airbnb that was
owned by Meredith’s parents. Meredith happened to be in town that weekend visiting her
grandmother. After meeting Preston, Grandma Barb had a feeling about the two of them (as
grandmothers sometimes do!) and she introduced them with the hope that the meeting would
turn into something more long-term. Preston and Meredith talked for a few hours at that first
meeting, and they met for breakfast before Preston headed back home. Over the next several months, it became obvious that a long-distance relationship was not going to cut it—they belonged together. Almost 2 years later, their daughter Zaylee arrived.
When he was ready, Preston employed Zaylee to help with his Christmas morning proposal,
knowing that Meredith couldn’t refuse.
The couple selected Moore’s Springs Manor in Westfield, NC, for their wedding and reception.
The ceremony took place on the front lawn of the venue, framed by picturesque views of the
nearby Sauratown Mountain Range. K2 Weddings provided music and sound for the service,
including, “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” by Haley Reinhart, for the bride’s entrance. After the
couple exited to Stevie Wonder’s, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours),” guests were invited
to enjoy cocktails before the reception. The Reception Hall was decorated in the wedding colors—deep greens and earth tones.
After their first dance together, Meredith danced with her father and Preston with his mother.
Meredith’s father gave a toast to the couple, followed by toasts from other family members.
After dinner, the couple cut the cake and DJ Stephen from K2 Weddings got the party started.
Guests danced the night away to songs selected by the couple mixed with requests from the
crowd. As the evening wound down, the Preston and Meredith and a few other selected
couples danced to, “Blessed,” by Thomas Rhett.
Then the newlyweds made their exit down the
walkway between the main house and the greenhouse. Their loved ones wished them well as
they headed off to start their life together as newlyweds. Our thanks to Preston and Meredith for making K2 Weddings part of your beautiful celebration.
