Tristin and Andrew met at a yogurt shop in Boone, NC—and then went their separate ways. Four years later, they sat together at a dinner before a half-marathon they were both running. Realizing they had more in common than their love for running, they started dating. Andrew proposed to Tristin on a romantic sunset walk on the beach during Tristin’s family’s annual vacation.
The couple selected The Honeysuckle Tea House in Chapel Hill, NC, as the venue for their September 2024 wedding. K2 Weddings provided sound equipment and music for the ceremony, and Tristin’s sister, Sydney, played guitar and sang during communion.
The ceremony was followed by a cocktail hour, and the reception got underway. The bride and groom, Mr. and Mrs. Colley, entered to, “September,” by Earth, Wind and Fire. They shared a first dance and then danced with their mothers to, “A Mother’s Love,” by B.B. King.
In a touching addition to the reception events, Tristin and Jordan included a special dance to honor all the married couples. DJ Larry, from K2 Weddings, asked couples to leave the dance floor if they had been married less than 5 years, 10 years, and so on. At the end of the dance, the couple who had been married longest was left alone on the dance floor—and applauded by all the guests!
After dinner, Tristin and Andrew cut their wedding cake and DJ Larry turned up the volume and got everyone onto the dancefloor. His well-timed set list kept guests of all ages dancing for the rest of the evening.
