Sarah + Nate had a traditional & romantic Spring Pinehurst Resort wedding in May 2016. Their spring colors included blush pink, gold, and champagne and accented their gorgeous Village Chapel wedding and Pinehurst Resort ballroom reception.
Their Beginning
Sarah, from Pinehurst, and Nate, from Pfafftown, met at UNCW freshman orientation in 2007 and shared the same major, Exercise Science. The two stayed in touch through college, but did not start officially dating until 2014. Sarah, who was attending Winston-Salem State University in her 3rd year of their Doctorate Program in Physical Therapy, invited Nate, who lived in Winston-Salem, to a Wake Forest basketball game. They both had such an amazing weekend together that they soon realized there was something special there.
The Proposal
Nate surprised Sarah with a trip to Wilmington and a beachfront stay at the Blockade Beach Runner Resort on Wrightsville Beach. Sarah thought Nate won the trip, but he had actually planned to propose 8 years to the day after they met at UNCW freshman orientation. Nate took Sarah to the UNCW campus and proposed at Trask Coliseum where they had most of their classes together in college. They then began planning their romantic Pinehurst Wedding.
The Wedding
Sarah + Nate tied the knot on May 21, 2016 at The Village Chapel and moved to the Pinehurst Member’s Club for their reception with family and friends. They enjoyed music from the 80’s, 90’s, and today’s hits mixed in with some beach music to tailor to the couple’s personalities. They danced their first dance to “Tenerife Sea” by Ed Sheeran. DJ Mario did a great job keeping the wedding guests on the dance floor throughout the night!
